It has always been a great pleasure to meet Tzipi Livni, a leading Kadima politician and former Prime Ministerial candidate and Foreign Minister, on my visits to Israel. Throughout her life she has been a staunch opponent of terrorism. It is a politically motivated abuse of process for a warrant to be issued for her arrest had she visited the UK in early December 2009. This is part of a deliberate campaign by the enemies of Israel to undermine the one properly functioning democracy in the Middle East. I have always had serious reservations about the possibility of a malicious political prosecution through the International Criminal Court. Now it seems that even English common law is open to malicious exploitation.
