    British Conservatives have worked hard to reverse many of the worst elements of CAP and have achieved some small gains. However, a major deal to reform the EU’s costly Common Agricultural Policy (26 June) amounts to little in spite of the efforts of Ministers and parliamentarians. It is not the final agreement, that must wait until the EU’s long term budget (or Multi-Annual Framework) has been settled, but it gives a clear idea of the way ahead.

      Today (6 June) signals the opening of a new North Rail Terminal at Felixstowe. The project adds nine new lines of rail track to the existing eleven, as well as a further three unloading cranes. Hutchison Ports (UK) which owns the Felixstowe port expects to move 800,000 shipping containers a year once the site is operational.
